Roads and routing
Road data © OpenStreetMap contributors, available under the Open Database Licence. The road extract is from Geofabrik, dated 23 October 2026. Leaflet and Canvas draw the streets; Valhalla calculates the route using the pinned Scotland graph. In the PHP deployment, Valhalla runs in a browser Web Worker.
The road graph manifest, street display manifest and Fife search manifest identify the dated datasets and their files. Displayed roads do not certify vehicle access. Route estimates exclude live traffic and temporary closures.
Boundaries and overview
The overview includes Natural Earth public-domain data. Fife and Scotland boundaries use ONS data under the Open Government Licence. Contains OS data © Crown copyright and database right 2025. Office for National Statistics data licensed under the Open Government Licence v3.0. A 15-metre uncertainty margin around Fife’s boundary requires review.
Live address search and map pins
Scottish address search and reverse lookup use Photon with OpenStreetMap data. Address text or selected coordinates are sent through our server to the provider; account details and passenger names are not included. The public service has fair-use limits and no availability guarantee. Our server caches lookups for up to 24 hours and limits outbound requests.
House numbers appear where they are mapped. Street and locality results are not exact property entrances. Reverse lookup adds a nearby address label while retaining the coordinates you selected. If no address is available, those coordinates remain the final location. Saved places and the existing Fife index remain available as a fallback. Check the intended vehicle entrance.
Existing website content
The package retains recovered Ash Cabs pages, articles and images. Original sources and unavailable images are documented in the source project. The operator remains responsible for publication rights.
