Pack for the space you have confirmed
A weekend away can still involve bulky equipment: coats, food boxes, walking boots and several small bags. Ask each passenger for a full list before requesting transport. Soft bags may be easier to arrange than rigid cases, but the team still needs to check the actual load. Do not treat a photograph of empty seats as a luggage-space guarantee.
Keep muddy or wet equipment contained
If the trip involves outdoor activities, explain that when discussing the return. Put wet clothing and muddy footwear in suitable bags rather than loose on seats. Mention larger items in advance and ask whether they can be carried. A passenger journey should not be planned as an unagreed load collection.
Plan comfort stops, not surprise diversions
For a longer Scottish journey, discuss any rest stop or food collection before the trip. Give the location and likely duration. An extended break may require a different arrangement from a quick pickup. Use the stop planner to show the route in the order you expect to travel.
Make the homeward leg independent
Your return may involve more bags or a different passenger count. Give the exact date, address and proposed collection time, even when everyone travels back together. Check that both legs have been accepted and that any deposit or balance information relates to the correct journey.

Can we leave our bags in the minivan all weekend?
Do not assume so. Ongoing storage or a vehicle retained between journeys would need a separate agreement; ordinary outward and return requests do not provide it.
